Corwyn and Duram prepare for their plan by buying a disguise and protection against magic. Corwyn assumes the identity of an impoverished young knight, uses the signal for getting Malcolme’s attention, and waits for the meeting at an inn. In the next evening, one of Malcolme’s servants arrives and leads Corwyn to the secret meeting place.
