Scene 5: The New Earl & Scene 6: Traveling to Aprenna

18th of Emperium i1453

Sir Giordus brings Corwyn before Garrett Faerrow, the new Earl of Rosemont, who is being advised by his seneschal Sir Derc of Telbury. Unsurprisingly, Corwyn encounters a lot of hostility from the grieving young man, but can settle the death of the guardsman relatively amiably by agreeing to pay half the blood-money. Afterwards, he convinces the Earl that Justin might not have been in control when murdering the old Earl. Despite the seneschal’s objections, Corwyn even persuades the Earl to give him time until Ascensium in order to find proof of Justin’s innocence. If he can produce satisfying proof of sorcery controlling Justin, his cousin will not face execution but exile instead. Corwyn pays the blood money, and travels to Aprenna.
